If you are a parent of a deaf child who uses sign language, the American Society for Deaf Children (ASDC) will represent your interests politically, and will provide you with information you may need on parenting your child.

ASDC, which has been in existence since 1967, has a national office, with a toll-free hotline. Parents of newly identified children can be referred to ASDC by professionals working with the family.

Among the many services ASDC offers are a Parent-to-Parent Network to aid new parents, the ParentDeaf-HH discussion list, and a Parents Connected Network for keeping up with legislative issues. ASDC also has a speakers bureau of people who make presentations on a variety of topics, such as doing Individualized Education Plans.

Several printed resources can be purchased from ASDC, and ASDC publishes The Endeavor newspaper. All members receive the Endeavor as a membership benefit.

Every couple of years, ASDC holds a convention.
